It's months before Lindsay Lohan's comeback TV movie even starts filming, and Rosie O'Donnell is already panning it.
Joining the NBC's "Today" as a panelist Tuesday, O'Donnell started off her first day with some fireworks while discussing Lohan's casting as Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime TV Movie, "Liz & Dick."
"I feel very sorry for [Lohan]," the former OWN Network host said. "I think she needs a lot of time away ... She's had a lot of trouble doing every single movie, including ‘SNL.’ She was out and not in rehearsal. I think she's not in a place to work."
When O'Donnell's "Today's Professionals" partner, Donny Deutsch called Lohan "our generation's Elizabeth Taylor," however, pity turned to anger.
"You're out of your mind! You're a crackhead! The last thing she did good she was 16," O'Donnell answered.
"Liz & Dick,” the made-for-TV movie about Taylor’s torrid affair with actor Richard Burton during the making of “Cleopatra,” marks the 25-year-old's first major comeback role since 2010's "Machete". Last month, a judge ruled “The Mean Girls” star had completed her supervised probation originating from a 2007 double-DUI case.
“I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor,” Lohan said in a statment. “She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role.”
I love Rosie...but Lindsay is lovely. She needs a break and good friends. That's all
