It's officially Wed, so that means an update tomorrow! For those of you worried about the chart growing stale you should quit worrying because at this point it looks like there will be at least 5 debuts and possibly more. Also two of the three songs that have been on the chart every week will be falling off, meanwhile the battle is tight for #1 between Shakira and One Direction. Katy Perry will also be reaching her highest peak on this chart this week.
Who will be #1? And just how many songs from the 90's will be on the chart this week? Find out tomorrow!
Tell Me a Lie is back at #1 for the 5th time. It is also the only song on this chart to have been #1 for more than one week.
This is the first week that Moments and The Edge of Glory are not on the chart. I would expect The Edge of Glory to remake it on the chart eventually if not next week. This is the very first week since it's been released that it wouldn't be in my Top 10 of the week.
I expect the chart to actually have a lot of random songs making it for awhile. Nobody is really getting my attention on the pop scene right now. Even songs that are now getting popular like Titanium and Lights are old to me and I've already overplayed them. I would expect to see either a lot of older songs making the chart for awhile or the same songs over and over. I'd say it will probably be like this until Gaga or Ke$ha releases this fall. This could mean good things for songs like What Makes You Beautiful and The Edge of Glory which would have been multiple week #1's before this chart started.
With only one song on the chart this week, this is the fewest songs One Direction has had on the chart.
With Out of Control Debuting, Lady Gaga becomes the first person to debut with a demo.
Desperado was released in 1973. The only act on the Top 10 to be alive when it was released were the Beastie Boys who would have been around the age of 7 at it's release.
Call Me Maybe spends it's 3rd week on the HM, Carly Rae has spent a total of 4 weeks on the HM when Good Time spent one week there. She is the artist with the most time on the HM.
Tell Me a Lie will have a strong chance at being #1 again, but Underneath Your Clothes, The State of Dreaming, Desperado and Wide Awake all will be very strong competition. I expect Katy to basically attack the chart after seeing her movie last night.
Wide Awake hits #1, becoming Katy's First #1 on this chart.
Wide Awake has Debuted 3 different times on this chart, each time debuting at a higher spot. It was first on the chart at #9 in Week 1.
Carrie Underwood is only the 4th American Idol Alum to chart, following Kris Allen, Stefano and Tim Urban.
Britney Spears enters the chart for the 2nd time with Oops! , following Lucky.
Tell Me a Lie stays on the chart again for it's 15th week. It is 5 weeks away from Retirement.
I'm going to guess that the #1 will either be One Thing, The State of Dreaming or Underneath Your Clothes. Don't Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas) may get it, but I expect this to be it's peak. God Is a DJ may be the darkhorse.
