Is Madonna capable of getting a #1 US single after GMAYL?
After the tragic underperformance of Madonna's lead single "Give Me All Your Luvin" (which was performed at the Super Bowl, had a music video, a preview on American Idol, a radio deal and 2 features), do you think it will be possible for Madonna to ever get another #1 song?
If she can't get it with all that exposure, does she have a chance ever again?
Do you think one of the songs from MDNA (even based on the snippets we've heard) has a shot at hitting the top? Will it be Girl Gone Wild?
Her last song to go #1 in the US was Music all the way back in 2000.
Yes, I know she has a ton of #1s and it's not like she needs more, but I'm just curious.
What do you think?  It'd be truly impressive if she got another one.

Turn Up the Radio, with the right promo could do it, but I doubt it. It's okay, she has 12, and if she never gets a 13th that's not going to hurt her legacy. Anything is possible though, look at Cher.

She needs a HIT.
Cher had the biggest hit of her career in 1998/99 when she was 53 and did a song that was fresh and new.
Madonna is a huge name and if she releases something that is really great, modern, yet fresh and herself, she can do it. But releasing a song like GMAYL which is fun and all but not that fresh and great, won't get her there.

GMAYL - though not a perfect fit for Madonna - was extremely radio friendly and - regardless of how it sounded - was performed on the Super Bowl. It should have peaked higher no matter what.
