Out of all these songs that didn't perform well, which one deserved to be a smash the most?
Thinking of You - Katy Perry
After 2 smash uptempo pop-rock songs, Katy\Capitol decided to release a more vulnerable side to Katy. The Public weren't here for it, although most Katy Perry fans name this the best Katy song to date despite it's charting success. Peak #29
Not Myself Tonight - Christina Aguilera
Christina's comeback to the music industry, sampling electro-dance music, which is a unique spin to what Christina's music usually uses. Some say the song didn't do well due to the video taking a little to much gaga inspiration, others say it's due to bad promo. Peak #23
Run the World (Girls) - Beyonce
Beyonce's supposed "Next girl anthem" song, which only found success in the video department. Sampling the hiphop-dancehall beat of a Pon de floor track, it was the thought that the song being released years after was a problem. Peak #29
Marry The Night - Lady Gaga
Gaga's first song to not enter her streak of top 10 hit's despite it being a song that had all the elements needed to top the charts. It's thought that the song didn't find success because it was released too late after the album release. Peak #29
California King Bed - Rihanna
Powerful vocals in a power ballad song. Following the success of her first 3 Singers in what people say is, the most successful Era Rihanna has had; the song found it difficult to find success being released w\ another single. Peak #37

Is that true? Who/what made them switch the order?
If MTN had been first and then BTW around the album release...OH MY
Gaga switched it to BTW because she thought it was different from the rest of the album or something.
During an interview with Billboard magazine, Gaga stated that it was the last track on the album, and that it was originally planned to be the lead single. During an interview with The Skorpion Show, Gaga announced that the song will be used as a promotional single for the album, being released before the album drops. In the same interview, she also stated that the song is a potential third single, however she "wants to leave it up to the fans to decide when the album comes out" about what song will become the official third single. The third single released, however, was "The Edge of Glory".
It was pushed back a few times

Run The World. The song is . However, all it took was a few articles criticizing it, and everyone stopped thinking for themselves and hopped on the anti-RTW bandwagon while actually jamming to it in secret.
