I think the song is so big because people believed it was Katy at first. Kinda like how they thought it was her on RIght Round. Expect Kimbra to blow up now.

Yes, she did. She did that for Adele too. Well, not tweeted her music, but stanned for her in a few interviews back in the day.
Katy's visit to Japan in 2009 (I think it was) when she is wearing that sushi dress... she looks SO MUCH like Kimbra. I had no idea Kimbra was NOT part of Goyte... i thought they was a group, hahaha.

Their voices are similar, but Kimbra has much better vocal control and much more power in her belts.
And Kimbra singing her own songs live is simply on another level.
