I feel like most people played it very safe this year. There were no stunning gowns, and there were no absolute misses (at least not from anyone of note - um, maybe Shailene). There were plenty of nice gowns, and there were plenty of average looks, and overall, I was really bored. I don't know how I feel about sleeves being such a big trend.
I agree that Jessica Chastain was probably best dressed, but in any other year, that look wouldn't make much of an impression.
I hope Berenice's Lady Clairol Carrot Top dye job is for a film, or something.
Approaching a song rhythmically, rather than melodically, is something synonymous with Beyonce/DC and probably her claim to fame in respects to the question being posed.Of course CIL pretty much popularized "Go-Go" in popular music. The only other notable "Go-Go" song prior to CIL is "Doin' The Butt", and that was 1988.
An argument could be made that Beyonce is the one who popularized the heavy Urban/Hip-Hop driven backing with R&B outside of the US. "Deja Vu", "Drunk In Love" (in time), and CIL just to name a few.
"Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are" - B.F.
Let me educate you: art in its purest form represents the artist as much at it represents its public. Million Reasons is a personal song, yet speaks to you in a universal language. You are not supposed to like it but you are not supposed to compare it to the incomparable for the sake of an argument when it's not needed. This album has no analog in Gaga's discography and if you are to compare it, you should do so by using other examples which in this case are timeless records sung by talented artist. Therefore, Joanne is already classic.
