It's interesting that I keep hearing people make comments about Adele sounding black or how she wouldnt be so succesful if she were black etc. Maybe Ive known her too long or just can't remember when I first heard her voice but Ive never ever thought of her as sounding black. Obviously there are black influences in her music but really there's all kinds of flavours on her 21 album; which is a big part of its crossover success.

No, and I've never understood what the difference between what a black and white female pop singer would sound like according to so much of society. I remember back when Tik Tok came out, everyone thought Kesha was black too.

My mother has asked me on more than once if Adele is black while RITD/ SFTTR was on the radio.
