All of this week we’ve been counting down the biggest selling genre albums and singles of the last twelve months, from rock to folk to blues. Today we can reveal the Top 20 biggest selling R&B / hip hop releases of 2011.

While Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull narrowly pip Rihanna’s ‘S&M’ at the post to claim the biggest selling R&B / hip hop track with ‘On The Floor’, RiRi is sitting pretty with the two biggest selling R&B / hip hop albums of the last twelve months with 2010’s ‘Loud’, and last year’s ‘Talk That Talk’, occupying the Number 1 and Number 2 slots, respectively.

I know many don't see Rihanna as an R&B artist, but she does have some R&B style in her music and especially in the UK that have only a few relevant R&B artists, they'd likely associate her in that genre due to her different style compared to the rest.

Pretty much anything that incorporates R&B and hip-hop is considered something of that genre lately due to the fact that most albums that's hugely successful in the country minus Adele and rock is some sort of pop lately.
