Dignity: Platinum (So many obvious singles choices, I WON'T go there today. I would have been happy with a #2 peak here.)

Hollywood Records has to pay for the certification. Metamorphosis is at 3.9 million records and Hilary Duff at 1.8 million records, perfectly eligible for 4X platinum and 2X platinum, but they will never pay for the certifications considering the drama that went down between HD and the label.

Even if they were still on friendly terms and she were signed to them still, they would most likely not pay for the certification because they only normally do it for recent albums/singles.

Hollywood Records is the only label/person/whoever who can pay for the certification because the album came from their label. Hilary couldn't pay for the certification if she wanted to, nor would she, considering that's the label's job.

Metamorphosis and Hilary Duff are screwed for life.

At least we don't have to worry about that with Most Wanted and Dignity.

Correct. However, certifications are based on how many albums were shipped (or close to shipped) to the United States. Hollywood Records stopped production on Metamorphosis and Hilary Duff physical albums AGES ago.

The only reason Avery and I are still pressed about those albums not being certified is that they were released before Digital albums became a big thing. So 99.9% of the albums sold are physical and there is/was more out there. By now, the left-over albums were returned to the label for them to recycle or whatever it is they do with the returned copies from distributors.
