Already a popular British actress, Natalia Keery-Fisher launched her music career with the release of 2005's "Don't Play Nice," a hit single that was credited to her stage name, Verbalicious. She later ditched the nickname for a new moniker, Natalia Kills — she also adopted her grandmother's last name of Cappuccini before the stage name Kills — and restructured her sound to include the theatrical dance-pop of Lady Gaga, 1940s film noir, and the electro-gloom of Depeche Mode.
Born in Bradford in August 1986, Keery-Fisher landed the part of Sima in the popular BBC sitcom All About Me while still a teenager. Appearances in Coronation Street, The Archers, and Casualty followed, as did the release of "Don't Play Nice," which peaked at number 11 on the U.K. charts and seemed to prime Keery-Fisher for a successful singing career. The label went bankrupt after the song's release, though. She bounced back by becoming the number one unsigned artist on MySpace, and her self-produced Wommanequin EP attracted the attention of will.i.am, which led to a deal with will.i.am/Cherrytree Records/Interscope/Dandyville. Showcasing her versatility, she wrote and co-directed a Quentin Tarantino-style web mini-series, Love Kills xx, and a film, The Exhibition, both of which were promoted as an extension of her debut album. Produced by Akon, Perfectionist was released in 2011, hitting German-speaking countries in April before receiving a wider release later that year. Natalia also supported Robyn and Kelis on their European tours and appeared on "2 Is Better," a track on Far East Movement's fourth album, Free Wired.
So she really confirmed an album to be released this year?
Yes.
Perfectionist is a timeless masterpiece. I could listen to it all day.
And the first time I heard Kill My Boyfriend, my God, I am in love. By far my favorite song from her yet.
And did I mention how much I love the demo version of Free? I think it ***** on any other versions of the song.
Justifying a white person calling herself "The Runaway Slave Master" is like justifying a Nazi calling his/herself "The Hiding Jew Snatcher" or something. :toofunny:
About time someone made a base thread. I was too lazy I was extremely obsessed with her after I heard the godliness that is Wonderland Perfectionist is solid, but I think she can do better. Can't wait for more
I hope this album is more well managed than Perfectionist. After all of the leaks the album was ruined for me honestly. But I'll always be here for her she follows me on twitter too

So you have KILLS on your twitter username? I agree though, I think she should be more careful this era. This is make it or break it. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves this year.

That's true. I was shocked to know Cherrytree barely push her at all. Even in Germany, her album failed to crack the Top 40.
Cherrytree better give it their all this time around.
I hope you mean she surpasses the "sophomore curse" and not that you think the album is trash...

I enjoyed the singles leading up to Perfectionist. I saw her live when she opened for Robyn before I had listened to any of her music and I loved her! She was a great live performance. However, when Perfectionist was released I was really let down. I didn't enjoy it.

I know the feeling too, sis. "Wonderland" and the leaks gave me life. But the album as a whole was disappointing. I just didn't connect to well.
