They shipped them yesterday. Do you think they have the copies sitting in a truck, delaying now thinking "Nah, not time to put them in the store room yet"?  They ship copies 1 week before the first week. That means they shipped them YESTERDAY, because the first release date is April 27th, in Ireland.
On top of that, it's most common that employees are allowed to buy them. It's not specific stuff; it's general, basic information.
The reason it most likely leak before yesterday is because the only leakable versions were a TAGGED CD for reviewers. The journalist would get fired and possibly arrested if he leaked it.
But since they shipped the copies yesterday, that means untagged copies are sitting in the backs of stores. An employee is generally allowed to buy one.
And anyone couldn't snagged one during the shipping.
Is that hard to understand?

Well Ceremonials had a, for the most part, similar worldwide release. With EH it's just being released in Ireland/UK first.

I think Lana Del Rey's album was released in the UK first and it leaked about 5 days before the release. It was 128kbps and the quality was horrible, though.
