Beyonce's Parents Officially Divorce After Messy Separation

The parents of Beyonce have finally divorced, two years after her mother filed to end their marriage. Mathew and Tina Knowles' divorce was legally finalised this month, ending months of delays and legal rows.

According to Tmz.com, Tina, 57, took action against Mathew in 2009 after it emerged he had fathered a child with another woman, Alexandra Wright. The divorce was initially dropped in 2010 after both parties failed to attend a court hearing, though after speculation the marriage was back on, Beyonce's mother re-filed in Houston, Texas, shortly afterwards. In those legal documents, Tina revealed that the marriage was "insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities" which ultimately, "prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation". Earlier this year, the R&B superstar announced that she had severed management ties with her father in a decision that was said to have been amicable. However, Mathew later filed a lawsuit claiming that he had been fired after Live Nation Entertainment made claims he had stolen money from his daughter.

Beyonce is currently expecting her first child with husband Jay Z, who now oversees her professional interests. It has been reported the baby could be born later this month.
