The quality of her singles doesn't really matter tbh. No matter what she releases, the first two singles whill smash, and everything after that will make less of an impact.
I was very surprised back in 2011 that I Wanna Go went to #7 and was like her biggest radio hit ever.
Lazy/bad performances and promo, lack of connection with the general public.
There's nothing wrong with the first 3 singles choices. The 3 of them are top 40 radio material and itunes candy with the exception of the 4th single Criminal and by then the album was already dead.
People just aren't that interested in her as a musician anymore, they are much more interested in her personal life or what she's going to do next in terms of big publicity scandal.
People who still live in 2007.
It’s like, you can never win. No matter what you do: at the end of the day, you can’t please everybody, and I'm not here to please" -Britney Spears
Britney tends to always have short, front-loaded eras. The first single is always huge and the follow up is usually just as big, but she really starts fading after that. I don't know what it is. It's an unusual situation with Britney. Femme Fatale is full of single-worthy songs. It was only a matter of making more of the right choices. Anyway, I still think she has done incredibly well for herself. She's been around for 13 years. Her original fans are much older now. Considering that, she is still successful. She just has to come back every few years and she can keep going.

This.
And the fact that deluxe edition tracks are almost never released as singles.
