"'I Will Be' is a song I have known for a while… From the outside looking in I know that everyone was fighting for Avril to put this on her record but for reasons I will not disclose, Avril, did not... I remember Luke playing this song for me months ago and I was at the point of tears knowing I heard a song that would be the hugest thing ever… I mean, people, be prepared to hear this song at EVERY WEDDING for a LONG time."
They both are good-great vocalists who are underrated. I'll give the edge to Demi, because she's more consistent than Nicole. I also am not very fond of Nicole's tone, her mixing can be too head based and shrill, and she has the tendency to oversing. With that said, Demi also has the tendency to oversing and has a weaker head register.

I agree. I think nicole is better in a technical aspect but for pop, her voice can become to opera-like and shrill. Demetria isn't as strong technically but her voice seems to be much less pleasant and here inflections are crisper.
Ya'll know Nicole has more range, and is immensely versatile right?
But range isn't always everything, as long as they can sing more than 1 and a half octaves like some overrated vocalists it doesn't affect the perception of one's vocal ability greatly.
