Hero will forever be her most "iconic" by this definition, even though she's had more successful songs. All I Want Christmas/Vision of Love/Always Be My Baby give Hero a run, but most non-stans will know and remember, "And then a Hero comes along, with the strength to carry on...." lyric than any other song by Mariah.

Some because they're legendary ("Like a Prayer"); Some because they're controversial ("Justify My Love"); Some because they were successful ("Take a Bow"); Some because they were associated with something else, like a Bond film ("Die Another Day") or a tour ("Who's That Girl?").

For whatever reason, good or bad, they are Iconic because they're famous and referenced years later.
