Britney vs Madonna: better performer in her prime?

Britney was an amazing performer, but nothing she did was ever really controversial besides one or two occasions. Whenever Madonna took the stage, people talked.
Madonna's performances are much more intersting and memorable. Take out the python (or Madonna) from Britney's two quasi-memorable performances and all you have is Lousiana trailer trash gyrating awkwardly on a stage.
