A lot of Genre's are truly just mixed genre's. I don't really think that matters I also think it's a bit of over generalization to say that blacks created or whites created this and that. There were a lot of people doing that kind of music as well, and I sort of don't believe that it has much to do with race. That's just me though.

Really? I would disagree. She hasn't used the show since her debut (when she had to). She certainly is a soul singer. Comparing vocally to Adele. She is. Call her basic, but they take Adele to school on vocals. She hasn't relied on the show (Leona kinda gets forced to). The show isn't the point, it was cowell's label that was the issue. Also, Rebecca Ferguson, Cher and 1Direction have and are making waves in the USA. The show is irrelevant. You must operate outside it. And she has, successfully. Compared to the other acts (bar Leona) from the show.

That's true to an extent, but everyone influences everyone. It's not an over generalisation, but the truth. There were some doing X and some doing Y, but they never got mainstream attention.

It doesn't matter who has the better voice. Alexandra Burke is better vocalist on the technical side, but she would need the material to have a proper breakthrough. The material I've heard from her is as substantial as the material I've heard from Nicole Scherzinger.

Yeah that is right. I don't know, I just never got why some people say "this is what black music sounds like" That's never made sense to me I mean I know certain styles of music have been created by certain cultures, but how does a color sound like something??

Now that's low. But if she has the launch, she could easily be a success, her debut was far better than Nicole's. It worked well. Her label didn't do any proper international promo. Downside of being on Cowell's label. I mean Jessie J went with her debut and it wasn't all that, and she had success. Alex could've had even more (3 top 10 hits IMO) if they'd put her out there. Her live performances boost the material IMO.

My thoughts exactly. It's nothing against Alexandra, I'm just echoing Cap in saying that amazing vocals will only get you so far. Adele's lyrics are sometimes overrated, but there's no denying that she wouldn'tve broken through without good material. Her voice definitely sells the songs, but it can only do so much. Alex needs stronger material to accompany her voice.

I agree too. If Jessie had success with her debut in the US, surely Alex could have. Her material was a good starting point. 19 wasn't perfect, but it got her attention. And then 21 was better due to her being in the US and meeting various producers. Same for Alex, if they'd released it, she could've met others (she had met Rico Love and RedOne). SMH at Cowell, the girl could've been big and yet he chose 1Direction over her and Leona. It really annoys me.

Yet more mud slinging at Adele and her fans. If the fat vs thin issue wasn't enough now some idiot plays the race card.....Adele is successful because she's good period, just like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion etc. were succesfull.Good music transcends race, thats what makes it beautiful...it touches every humans soul....

You need a reality check, because with your ignorant comments in every racism-related thread on ATRL, you keep on proving YOU are a racist.
