This is not "a cure" yet. Several succesful clinical trials need to be conducted before this can be considered a cure. Even if this approach can be replicated on a large scale, it wouldn't be available for another 10-20 years to the general public so no, this is not an excuse to stop using protection yet

It would be awesome if a cure was found, but people would have that ignorant mentality that it's safe to have unprotected sex or use needles, even though there are hundreds of other diseases out there. If a cure was found, it would cost a whole lot.
