The official Japanese section opened on her site, and confirms the album will be released (with bonus tracks, I'm assuming the same as the UK) on July 25th. I would guess that she'll do promo (plus possibly other parts of Asia) after the Australian tour.

Album will probably do about 70-75k this week. It depends what she performs at the Billboard awards - if it's an epic performance of "Blown Away" it could get a decent bump next week, but if she performs "Good Girl" I can't see that song having much of an impact anymore. Either way, gold in two weeks

It's going to be a slow climb to platinum; she won't get the holiday boost that the other albums had

She told Seacrest she'll be at the finale, but not performing.

I would be surprised if she didn't do SNL at some stage, and don't forget CMA Fest in June. Country acts usually have a pretty nice bump that week.

depends what she performs. If she performs Good Girl, probably not. Blown Away would probably get some of the casual Country fans on board. In any case, I can't imagine the boost would be huge.

Carrie may have just lost her chance at a 3rd week at #1 depending on how the passing of Donna Summer effects the public.. I don't think we'll see Whitney like album sales but she has a lot of fans that will probably be buying her music right now.

no need to panic, she's still doing well. we're so used to Carrie releasing in the 4th quarter, benefiting from the holiday boost and going platinum in 4 weeks. it won't be happening this time, but that doesn't mean it won't match or better "Play On."

it'll be a slow slog, but it isn't going to flop. the singles are too strong, and she's far too popular for that. i think once we see her release a more Country sounding song to radio she'll get more of the Country audience back on board. "Good Girl" has probably put them off a bit.

Completely agree. If she releases something like Wine After Whiskey, Do You Think About Me, Cupid's Got a Shotgun or Leave Lone Alone, definitely people that really really really like Country will buy the album.

**** i love listening to her sing "Alone." Actually, I love listening to her sing anything when the material rivals her vocals, regardless of the genre. There aren't too many better...

Thing is, if it's the country audience that's pushing away from Carrie then she shouldn't release Blown Away. Although Blown Away is a masterpiece, it has little country elements in it and can push her usual audience away farther.

That's true, but I think the country adience can """""""relate""""""""" more to it due to its storyline
