My heart is broken!!! I can't believe this was my last monday watching a new episode The finale was beautiful! The scene with all the ghosts, Karen's death, th future of the housewives, everything was just perfect!! I only missed Edie, but obviously she was not showing up
Now I feel empty! One part of my heart is missing I can't imagine life without Desperate Housewives, I grew up watching the show since the pilot and now I feel incomplete

In honor of "Desperate Housewives" end, I selected my favorite 9 characters of the show.
1. Bree Van de kamp: Bree's character is probably the only one with consistence in good acting, interesting storylines and evolution throughout the years in the series.
2. Lynette Scavo: IMO she was the best actress from season 1 to season 3, her acting wasn't as impressive during the last seasons of the show as it used to be, but overall, I think it was the most realistic character on "DH".
3. Gabrielle Solis: the character had up and downs, there were seasons where Gabrielle's character was good, and other seasons where it was a weak character, there wasn't enough consistency. But Gabrielle made laugh harder than any other "DH" character.
4. Susan Mayer: the acting was great, Susan gave us a lot of sad sensitive tear-eyed peformances, several of her scenes really impressed me although ocasionally I think the character evolution was bad and disorganaized, on certain points Susan could be "too stupid" and "annoying".
5. Karen McClueskey: Amazing acting skills and funny storylines, Karen's character and addition to the show is one of the highlights on Desperate Housewives.
6. Karl Mayer: In a series dominated and centered on Female characters, not many men could stand out, this recurring character and Susan's Ex-husband IMO was the best male character on the show, he was so funny, I praise at least the 90% of the scenes where this dude was involved
7. Paul Young: Sometimes It seemed a villain, sometimes it seemed good, but Paul gave a lot of mystery and suspense to the series, I praise his scenes with Susan. He was one of the most mysterious characters on "DH".
8. Carlos Solis: Despite the fact his storyline and writing was over the top, I find most of his scenes funny specially the ones with Gabrielle, and definately a moe entertaining character than his boring peers: "Mike" and "Tom".
9. Edie Britt: She is probably the 5th most popular character on the show, she was interesting, her few sensitive/human moments on the show where great and made me love her, but despite this, most of the time it was a superficial character, there wasn't too much depth or substance.
Well those are my choices..... I couldn't pick a 10th favorite because it was too hard.

I loved every single character. Even Beth Young!

Emmy winner Kathryn Joosten, whose emotional death scene as Karen McKluskey gave Desperate Housewives‘ recent series finale its biggest emotional punch, died yesterday of lung cancer in Westlake Village, CA. She was 72.

I'm so sad it's ending.
What a fantastic show, all the characters were hilarious ( except for Susan, what an annoying woman ).
Marcia Cross made the show.
