I'm not sure why some people are so insistent on categorizing Beyonce as a blond. Most people don't see her as a blond. To suggest that she is an iconic blond is a huge reach, because it would involve mass recognition as a blond, which you have already stated is not there.
She's still hugely successful. There's not some need to win everything that resembles a competition.
