Of course they still matter. But interaction has always been more important--maybe not to people around here, but to the brands these stars represent. There have been many, many studies done about the value of a Facebook like versus the value of Facebook interaction versus the value of a person who does neither in terms of a company's bottom line. It's a huge part of business.

There's a world outside facebook. Just because people aren't actively linking Rihanna into their facebook posts doesn't mean they aren't talking about her more than Gaga.

Yes it's obvious Gaga is bigger I didn't know Rihanna already have more likes than her but those are just because of some people that like her just because she's 'hot', 'good looking' and that stuff, or simply because atm they like 'We Found Love' or something like that but we all know in general Gaga is bigger overall.

You girls always do the most at downplaying her success. 50M liking Rihanna is NOT just because she's hot but of course it doesn't mean they're all buying her music either.

Gaga's updates usually also get more likes. Rihanna has a lot of casual fans, that explains her big following but I think people only keep up with her music rather than her daily statuses.
