Secret Circle got the short end of the stick, IMO. The decision was most likely heavily influenced by having terrible retention, with the strongest lead-in show for the CW. If you take TVD + SPN out of the equation, all the shows on the network are performing up to par with one another. They range from 0.4-0.6!

im so mad. most of their shows get about 1 million viewers. TSC had about that and used to get double it.

i hoped they cancelled GG and 90210 cause they have ****** ratings and have been on way too long.

I've been pressed all day about this. Gossip Girl has drawn under 1M viewers three times this season. Secret Circle's demos and total viewers were better than GG. Had they packaged TSC with TVD internationally, it would have done well there too.

There is no business advantage for renewing Gossip Girl. The buzz is gone, the ratings are falling, the demos are bottoming out, the cast wants out.
