Next time you attack an artist (and don't give me that "It's just an opinion!" crap, again, you wouldn't have randomly replied to me and shaded her if all you were doing is giving an innocent opinion on how you wish she wrote more) do your research. She IS involved in her music and creating her album whether you want to believe it or not. End of.

That's what I mean. He threw her under the bus internationally. He's very very odd, and traditional. I didn't believe my dad, but he said Cowell always thinks that white artists/whiter looking ones will sell well. And his signings prove that. Olly (has some black influenced music), Cher, Leona, rebecca. He passed on JLS thinking they wouldn't sell, even though it was obvious they would. Like the whole 'Cheryl and Alex' thing. He did more to help Cheryl than he did Alex. He didn't even try and put her in the US at all. Leona had BL on US itunes in December 2007. Alex did a random 2 week European promo trip. And that was it. Notice the difference? Alex can do what Leona can, and what beyonce does too. More money to be made. It was not a financial thing IMO, it was more political/Simon's thought process.

Alex out of all the XF acts would find global success easy. Hit after hit, great ballad after great ballad, and being awesome live. Money was there to be made, he just didn't care. And him passing the buck on album 2 after she got him 4m records in a year and a bit was foolish. I mean Hallelujah alone broke UK + European records. I mean best selling single by a british female, and highest selling debut single and fastest selling single? That girl was born to sell.

Are you blind? I already said, I don't claim to be a fan.. BECAUSE I'M NOT, YET. I didn't like Overcome and I didn't like Elephant. I love Let It Go and I was anticipating a decent amount of writing on HOH because there was zero on Overcome. The fact Elephant (which I dislike) is the only song I've heard that she's written on, I was disappointed. If you think that's shading, then be my guest, call it shading.

You can disagree with me, that's fine. I realise that this happens on discussion forums. But you take such a defensive stance that it shows you up for the generic forum stan you are.

What do you call not having many writing credits? It's basically picking songs you like or having others write them. Don't give me "it's the label" BS, because if she cared so much about writing, she would - see Rebecca Ferguson.

I don't think so. She did write a lot, as we can see, she wrote What Money Can't buy all by herself. It depends on how a label see it. Rebecca probably had the songs there. If you don't, as Alex said, you have to prove yourself. She was in a big writing camp and those without her credits were put on the tracklisting. I doubt she did nothing. Just because others wrote them doesn't mean it's not had her input, she just might not have written a word. Like on overcome, they used her diary (They don't know, nothing but the girl, the silence).

Thats why I said that someone who is close to Alex needs to get her to ask her US contacts like Rico Love/Autumn Rowe to try and get her meetings with US managers. There is a gap in the current US market for a female singer who can do pop and ballads and perform. Britney is not doing it anymore, Beyonce is getting older and sorry to say but Rihanna needs to be in rehab. Rita is overrated and Jessie cannot dance, Cher Lloyd is just talentless. Cowell is a waste of time, it would not even surprise me if he is not trying to sabotage her career now because she left Syco. The fact that he has had terrible acts perform on BGT and Alex has not had a slot and that Capital are blanking her is just too strange.

Don't mean to be negative here, but I have a feeling the album is going to flop. There hasn't been any memorable singles as of yet.

Marina got to No 1 in the album charts last week with sales of 25k. The album still has a good chance of getting to No 1. What happens next is important though. Alex is a hard worker and it makes sense to send her on an International promotion tour where she just promotes her butt off. Small festivals and JLS summer shows are not good enough.

This. For me it's even vocally too (Leona is 2nd for me). She just has that raspiness and soul that you are born with, you can't train to have it.
