She is not underrated, she is just mediocre.

The voice is there, she has a really nice voice ... but the attitude is not there, the edge is not there, the innovation is not there, the iconic moments aren't there.

she is nothing interesting IMO, and her voice was waisted on bad albums.

If she had some voice training, she would be a serious vocal powerhouse. She's already naturally a better belter than Christina (and probably Beyonce) but her technique is pretty bad.

Well, I think her career choices are to blame, she is thought of more as a personality than a singer these days.

Her tone is so nasaly it's really painful to listen to. Her larnyx is far too high when she belts and her technique is incredibly improper. I will say she does have good range and decent power though.
