It really makes sense. Imo, the story is: the robbery was a plan of adam. Adam asked someone to help him to make such a robbery. And then Adam could save the girl he had loved for a long time as a hero and made her fall in love with him. But the police had already figured everything out. So ......

I have laughed so hard the first three times I have seen it, I'll admit...

But somehow now I have given sense to the story line, taking into account what Adam (who wrote the plot) said explaining it.

The guy he plays is a non confident nerd with a low leveled job, with a crush on this girl that has no idea he exists (Adam's word).

So when the bank robbery starts, and things get violent and risky (PS: I LOVE James Valentine's badassness as a bank robber ) and he realizes he's near to the girl he secretly likes, he has the chance to be a hero for her.

insecure people with big dreams sometimes take chances irresponsibly and have no idea of potential consequences of impulsive reactions: so he thinks he can get her out of the building, becoming a hero for her in his mind, and thus the pick up of gun / shooting of the robber (homicide, a pretty big MISTAKE in a normal guy with no life existence I guess?) escape, where the nerdy loser guy becoming hero finds probably the best rush of blood to the head ever.

They escape, and from the way the running is made being looked at (when Adam memorizes from the payphone) and the way he can actually hold her hand, becomes the highlight of his whole life, the moment when he feels his loser life has touched sky, and the only moment when she will ever take notice he existed.

He let the gun fall, because he's not violent and because that was all not planned and impulsive, out of passion and love, but also out of any logic.

He knows she will never be a part of his life, so before stealing the car letting police following him only (the police of course thinks he's a part of the bank robbers and a guy with no self esteem and just normal would never stand up and say "Ehi, look, I'm innocent!" especially feeling that he has actually shot somebody inside... a normal guy would freak and be even less smart in the subsequent actions? I think so... and anyway he just care about saving the girl at that point, making her be safe from the bank chaos), he just has the chance to say something to her and play even more (in his mind) the generous hero.

His series of rushed mistakes (again totally psychologically accurate if you start from the point the guy is a loser) continue with the car stealing, the chase, the way he makes lots of cops die/being wounded, increasing his chances to be jailed forever after his exploit, especially in his mind again.

At the end, his whole life is ruined for the way it was before all that, so he has to change the premises and the consequences furher too, if he wants to go on.

And that is I believe a metaphore on how a relationship that has failed has changed him and his life, in a way that never could ever be as it was before, or even better, how actions that were maybe not so planned, or logic, or due have ruined a relationship till the point nothing (of it) can ever go back to normal, making the whole universe that relationship belonged to... explode, burn and disappear.

I also like how you can see Wiz being both a millionaire and a poor guy.

In a way, seeing Wiz poor, at the same level of Adam/banker in the end, but also knowing somewhere else in the video the same Wiz is rich and successful, might mean how out from a crumbled and destroyed world, one can rise back to new and most amazing heights (which is what Wiz actually raps about, and that fits the song in my opinion a lot.

So...

After this I think the video for me makes A LOT of sense, and I am actually liking it a lot now

I don't blame you for thinking this, but you'd be surprised of the lenghts any of those guys in the band can go on over spilling the intricate links on any movie they are fond of, for literally hours.

Even when said movie is a D-list awful sparkle out of the 80's worst closet.



You may sure be right... but I tend to believe there was way more than just an excuse for explosions that they/he want to put in the plot (though the explosions, oh! those are things they love, don't they?)
