Live Nation promotes concerts. Live Nation Entertainment is a its parent, which consists of Live Nation Concerts, Ticketmaster, Front Line Management (which includes Roc Nation) and Live Nation Network (which manages merch, websites, etc). Madonna is signed with LNE, so I assume, Shakira's will be the same. But unlike Madonna, she's already been recording her album on her own, so they won't be paying the recording expenses (like they did for Madonna). Live Nation Entertainment is the copyright holder, while it distributes its releases from outside labels.

ok Live Nation already signed a tour deal with her. 10 years. for 100million.
This time its for album distribution which will be divided between Sony and Live Nation.
Get that money woman.

I feel like that's incredibly risky since Shakira has not had much impact in the US for a few years.

Her promotion/tour etc with roc nation/live nation. She is in the biggest company in the business. AND they are spending good amount on her, they know she sells....even without promo she sells, so yep.

ugh im so confused. all i know is sony is not the music distributor it once was.. heck even their television/gaming and cellular companies are such flops. Sony cant do anything right like before.. Leave sony !

I think Shakira's is for more. 60 million deal for her albums, not half for the tour. She still has her 70-100 million deal for her tour up until 2018 I think? It was a 10-year deal.

its two contracts with Shakira...one for tour which is 70-100million. The other one is for albums, which is 60 millions divided between live nation and sony. 30/30
