Why did RS give it so low?

Carrie's going to struggle to get universal critical acclaim until she releases wholly Country motivated record. She nails songs like "Wine After Whiskey" and "Someday When I Stop Loving You."

But I don't think she cares to be honest. She records what she wants and what she thinks the fans will love. Have to give her credit for that.

seriously, i don't think Carrie didn't get that acclaim becuz she's too pop
look at taylor, songs like Haunted or BTV are purely pop-rock, but the critics don't give a **** about it

This album Carrie made so much effort, she decided to step it up and release stuff that you never heard from her before

The Rolling Stone review is eh. I've grown to really love the album, but I can understand this review. They acknowledge the best songs on the album and they spill the true tea on the worst song (One Way Ticket...it's foul. Y'all can deal )

My personal rating would be a 3.5, so I was expecting and hoping that they'd give her 3 stars but 2.5 isn't that far off, I guess. The Idol stars have always had a tough time with Rolling Stone.

It's always just an opinion. They're supposed to be educated opinions, but they're written by people and people can always be biased one way or another. I'm sure some labels have paid smaller blog sites (Perez) to rave about an artist or things to that nature, but I'd be very surprised if Rolling Stone or any big publications bought into any of that crap.

It's disappointing, but it hasn't been all bad

Knowing the way Carrie talks on the FC she won't give a flying **** about her Metascore. She's very fan base oriented, and if we're happy then she's happy. And the reaction from her fans everywhere has been very positive.

I will admit though, the first time I heard "Nobody Ever Told You" I laughed my ass off at the Little Mermaid noises and thought "what the **** is this ****?" And every negative critic thus far has pretty much launched a barrage of hatred towards "One Way Ticket." It makes me smile, I don't mind it, but it's so weird to hear Carrie sing something like that. Those two songs, I can understand the negativity towards. The rest of the album, the critics can go suck off a goat

but it seems like the critics just care about that one damn song and ignore all the good ones in the end, it's the hate towards Carrie herself not that one song

They have lost credibility, but IMO so has Billboard. They're probably even more biased than RS.

Yeah, but Billboard is known for statistics. Rolling Stone was once a great read. Now, it's trash.

To negate the RS review, CW gave "Blown Away" an 80 (4/5), giving it a Metascore of 69 once everything's updated. I haven't counted that pathetic Spin review in there, simply because it deserves nothing but deletion from the entire interwebz

The CW review should be online soon.

Could be better, but certainly could be a lot worse. We have to remember, once the album is released in the UK we'll them to factor in too
