My third favorite song in the rate. Someone else is going to have point out the flaws in this one because I sure as hell can’t find any. Okay, I’ll give you Taylor’s acting in the music video but THAT’S IT. Also why is that Steven/Jason or whatever his name is from Laguna Beach in this? He’s barely an upgrade of stoneface in Tim McGraw. Not acceptable. Not adequate. A song this perfect should have the biggest actors in Hollywood begging to be cast in the video. I think that the last chorus is what really gets me in this song. The “Cause I'm not your princess, this ain't a fairytale, I'm gonna find someone someday who might actually treat me well” line is just perfect. This placement is not good enough.

Sidenote : This song beat Dead Flowers and Just a Dream at the Grammys.

And that's the worst part.

Probably my least favorite single of the album, I wish it went before Me and Charlie Talking. I feel that unlike most Miranda songs, Bring Me Down just doesn’t have anything that pulls me in and makes me interested. I personally would have preferred Greyhound Bound For Nowhere being a single instead. That song is just . Anyways, I’m fine with this leaving now.

The problem that I have with this song is that I don’t feel like the vocals blend well together. Carrie’s voice is more pure while Randy’s has a certain rawness to it. Also, I really wish Carrie tried a more understated approach with the chorus. The “I Told You So” belts just felt out of place on the song. I actually didn’t know that Carrie did a solo version of the song because I only heard the duet on the radio and always just skipped over it on the album. Now’s a good time for it to leave.

Okay come on people, this was top 20 material. This song is part of my go-to mix cd whenever I am feeling stressed out. Being finals time, I have listened to this song nine times in the past week. There’s just something reassuring about the way Miranda sings it. It’s not like this subject hasn’t been done before, but in my opinion very few have captured the essence of it like Miranda did. This song just makes me want to get in the car and drive to anyone who gave this song below an 8’s house and burn it to the ground while New Strings plays in the background.
