Well, Concerts West were also a strong touring company, but they were also in charge of 7,000 movie theaters throughout the country and Britney had "Crossroads" coming out, so she decided to go with them in order to promote the tour and the movie at the same time. Without them, "Crossroads" probably wouldn't have made over five times its budget.
The album still sold well in the States, the single performed well worldwide, and the tour was a success. Sans the lead singles from her first two albums, the follow-ups didn't perform particularly well in the States either.
