wow. is that source trustworthy? i'm assuming the "listen remix" is the one featuring bey... so it probably isn't a new vocal from bey.

Okay. I'm going to be doing some EXTREME waiting and seeing though cause I'm not buying that source.
But I like her, she's beautiful, a great dancer and an amazing singer. And "Paralyzed" is my jam. It'd be interesting to see what she does if she made an international debut.

I doubt it. An Asian artist would have to make themselves very westernised to have success in the US or Europe. Its like with all the girl groups...western girls can't relate to them so theyre doomed. The culture is just too different and also the music and videos often seems like something done 10 years back.

Most Asian pop acts are westernized so the "culture" excuse isn't valid. Most western girls (and gays) just are not interested in Asians.

True. The only thing that's not Western in a lot of Asian music is the language the more of it you listen to. It's pretty Americanized. People get the idea that even K-Pop and J-Pop are genres when it's probably a way better idea to see it as music done in a different language.

yes, because theyre from a different culture and not relatable. Plus when they do westernised music its a bit like taking ice to the eskimos. Nobody wants poor imitations.

And again, their culture isn't very different as they're very westernized so it's not a valid excuse. How do western acts do well in non-western parts of the world? And there's no "when they do westernized music" because 99% of the time they are making westernized music. The only valid excuse you gave is that music sounds outdated, but even if were updated, most Americans, Britons, etc. still won't be interested. And even if they're western-born, they're still not "relatable" as evidenced for the poor performance of acts like Jay Sean and Far East Movement. Most whites, blacks, Hispanics and other non-Asians just aren't here for Asians and even most Asians aren't interested.

yes theyre doing westernised music but it doesn't look authentic...more like a copy. And western acts do well in Asia because theyre not seen as dated or imitations. Asia and the western world do not look at each other with equality. Musically, Asia has never been seen as relevant so they have a huge barrier to break down. Really they need to find their own sound because imitations won't cut it outside their own market.
And Jay sean has had a few huge hits but he's not obviously Asian. He could pass as mixed race easily.

Produced by "Timbaland"? .... then I doubt it hit #1 ... Timbaland is not a "top producer" anymore in years.

Could you please give examples of songs by Asian artists that lack authenticity and look like copies? Or are you just speaking randomly through your perception of Asian pop music? The vast majority of pop music released by Asians acts are not imitations. If they were how would they sound "outdated"? If they were imitated, it would sound the same as what being out now in the US. But yes, Asia and the west do not look at each other equally; western worship is rampant in Asia, but not the other way around. Even with their own sound, western people are not interested in Asians no matter how you try to get around that.
Jay Sean has only had one hit and he's obviously of South Asian origin, not mixed race (he's Indian and looks it). He's not "obviously Asian" to Americans because most American believe Asian = East Asian.
