The only movie that got me really scared was Paranormal Activity.. I was pretty scared during Scream as well because it was my first real horror movie.
A young woman travels to Texas to collect an inheritance; little does she know that an encounter with a chainsaw-yielding killer is part of the reward.
Release: 4th January 2013
Directed by John Luessenhop
Written by Kirsten Helms, Kim Henkel, Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan, Stephen Susco.
Starring
Alexandra Daddario (Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief)
Tania Raymonde (TV's Lost)
Scott Eastwood (Grand Torino)
Bill Moseley (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2)
Shaun Sipos (Final Destination 2)
Trey Songz (Recording artist)
and Dan Yeager as Leatherface.
Budget: $8,000,000 (estimated)
What we know so far:
- A deal was signed in 2009 for multiple TCM movies to be made after the rights to the franchise were sold off to another production company.
- It is said that if a sequel wasn't made that the original owners to the franchise would've lost their right in the production.
- Started pre production in June 2011.
- There is a confirmed scene that takes place at a pool party where Leatherface makes a surprise appearance.
- Actors from the original TCM film Gunnar Hansen, Marilyn Burns return for brief cameos.
- A full and in depth description as to what happens in the film leaked last year, causing the film to subsequently begin re-shoots in late 2011.
- Lionsgate has the United States distribution rights to the film.
- It will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.
This film will take place DIRECTLY after the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre film, and is said to open with Dan Yeager recreating the iconic ending to the 1974 film (some refer to it as the dance of Leatherface). The current movie will begin shortly after this. (I have also heard rumors that the original ending footage will be revamped and used instead of this)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) ending
I'm personally very excited for this films release, I really enjoyed the remake and the prequel.
