After months of going up and down in the chart and peaking first at #6 a few months ago and then #2 last month, Rihanna's "Talk That Talk" feat. Jay-Z jumps 6-1 today after holding steady on plays but since the performance on SNL the song manages to get to the top of the chart.

The song becomes Rihanna's record-extending 19th #1, the most by any artist on my chart and the song is the 5th song from "Talk That Talk" to hit the top spot after "We Found Love," "Where Have You Been," "You Da One," and "Birthday Cake." With the 6-1 rise, it becomes the 5th time that she has hit or returned to #1 from outside the Top 5, such rises are unusual although lately it has happened a lot. What's interesting is that if you take out the songs that have returned to #1 and only count songs that hit #1 for the first time, Rihanna would have 3 consecutive #1s since Birthday Cake was the previous NEW #1 after Take Care.

For Jay-Z the song is his 2nd #1 and his first since 2010 when he assisted Kanye West in "Monster" along with Rick Ross & Nicki Minaj. He returned to the Top 5 with "Umbrella" by Rihanna which hit #2 after i went to her concert, also with Usher's "Hot Tottie" (#3) and with Kanye once again with "****** In Paris" which hit #2 last year.

Back to the chart, Rihanna holds at #2 with WHYB which was shows gains after the SNL performance also, she also scores the "Greatest Gainer" in the chart as her previous #1 "Birthday Cake" (Remix) rises 21-15 today, all of this while "Take Care" by Drake holds @ #9. Gotye drops to #3 after returning to #1 yesterday, if WHYB would've held to the top spot yesterday she would've replaced herself on top.

Demi Lovato debuts @ #14 with "Give Your Heart A Break" her second entry after the #2 peaking "Skyscrapper."
