Pink like her *****, but not as diverse. The songs in this album are so lifeless Candyfornia would NOT use. Sister Hudson you're 27..the ship to Neverland left years ago. Props for getting 5 #1 singles though.

What kind of goofy over-production did they create? This album is just so extremely random. She shows that she can create good lyrics; Circle the Drain & stupid ass lyrics; Peacock & California Gurls. The song has many failed attempts of pop ballads (Pearl & Not Like the Movies) which just fall flat in the end. She's great at having a slew of hits, but the fact that this album is so messy & so over-the-top, I don't think it was good as a whole. None of the songs seem to have the ability to be remembered in the long-run besides Firework, which will most probably feign as well.

Katy Perry - Teenage Dream
80/100
The record is full of sugary hits that can sometimes get annoying but shows various shades of Katy's personality. Teenage Dream is probably the best track on the record, it's a masterpiece and doesn't really age. I still listen to it all the time, LFN and CG are cute but they can get old fast, but most songs like that do. Firework is the second pick for my top three, and the song was praised by the critics for good reason, it's deliciously catchy with a moral behind it. Peacock is trash, I'll end it there. Circle the Drain shows great diversity among the now tiring bubblegum pop, and then we go into a cute song called The One That Got Away. Electronic and dark tracks are up next with E.T. and WAMLF which are both nice listens even today. Pearl is okay, Hummingbird Heartbeat is flawless and so is NLTM. Overall, a solid record for what it is, bubblegum pop.

I always love how people have to dig up a song that is almost TEN YEARS OLD to make any connection to another song.  Kinda shows how it was keeply different to everything on the radio at the time.
Plus, lyrically (more importantly than production-wise tbqh) the song is a master piece.

Lyrics are more important to me. The best songs are ones I can relate to. Production is just extra. And E.T.'s extra heaven on heavenly lyrics.

Just a great pop album imo. Best tracks are Teenage Dream (pure perfection and probably one of my favorite Katy songs ever  ), E.T., Firework, Hummingbird Heartbeat, Circle The Drain. I wouldn't classify anything on this album as terrible. Even Peacock is at least a "fun" song, despite the lyrics. It's not rated higher because several tracks get old fast (Cali Gurls, TGIF, TOTGA). When it's all said and done for Katy, this will be an album that every fan should have, but it won't be a classic for her. Her classic album will be in the future

Teenage dream was the album of the decade for me! All of the songs are quite different and diverse! I love the pop feeling of the songs, while some of the songs had a very dark feeling. I loved all of the remixes and everything. The music videos are superb and I loved them!

The One That Got Away, E.T., Teenage Dream
This album was alright overall, but it was made to be very mainstream. I never really liked the style of this album or most of the tracks. A lot of the songs on the album were C tracks and seemed to be fillers. "The One That Got Away" is the shining star for me on this album. The catchy beat and simple lyrics really come together great on this track.
