These reviews are absolutely RIDICULOUS. They are ignoring the whole point of the album. They are totally misunderstanding the concept, not paying attention to the lyrics, and not realizing the full potential. It's pathetic that these "reviewers" are even allowed to write, and that these sites are actually publishing this ********.

FIRST

'Bubblegum Bitch' finds Marina-as-Electra snarking about how she's "Ms Sugar Pink Lick-a-lick-a Lips",

This is where the reviewer is not paying attention.
It's "liquor", not "licka"


SECOND

Inventing an alter-ego to take all the blame ironically has taken all the sting out of Marina's barbs.

This is where the reviewer is misunderstanding the concept.

Marina is NOT Electra. Electra is not an "alter-ego", it is a character that explores & portrays archetypes (Suburban housewife, beauty queen/primadonna, homewrecker, idle teen) in a story (the album). ****.

THIRD

Electra Heart, perhaps save for the odd “****," could have been made by any of the anonymous pop stars Marina claims to be so against, claims to be critiquing, claims to be so superior to. Maybe I've missed the joke, but it doesn't even feel like there's a joke to get.

The fact that the reviewer outright says here, "maybe i've missed the joke" - well, this is why you shouldn't have even reviewed the album. You don't get it, SIT DOWN.

Marina has not claimed to be "superior" to anyone. To misjudge and throw such harsh assumptions is borderline 'dangerous'.

I don't get how this is even considered as a review. Barely any thought put into this at all. The rating is enough to tell you so.

What acoustics would you guys like to see next? I actually kinda wanna see Lonely Hearts Club as an acoustic. Or maybe Hypocrates. They NEED to do a complete orchestral version of The State of Dreaming at some point. It'd be awesome if they did something like what Florence did for the Royal Albert Hall and make a bunch of songs orchestral... that was amazing and Marina's voice would suit it so well.

You have to listen to songs like Are You Satisfied, Shampain, I Am Not a Robot, Obessions, Hollywood... well before I name off the whole album that would probably be a good start.

My goodness, Fear & Loathing is one of Marina's best songs.

Even people who dislike/hate Marina or Electra Heart for whatever reason are completely delusional if they don't think that was a terrible review and that the reviewer should be fired. He said NOTHING about the album and gave it 1/10...What is this ****ery? I've actually never seen a worse album review in my life.

WHAT THE MOTHER **** MESS he didnt even review the album and he only judged the whole album by the title of Bubblegum Bitch. I dont think he listened to the whole album. He should just quit his job as writer because he cant write a proper review/article.
