'Electra Heart' is amazing. I love the production and lyrics (which I heavily relate to). The album has depth and substance. Works as a concept album. More pop but feels like a Marina album. One of the best records this year, so far, in my opinion. Deserves better reviews.

No. A lot of reviewers don't really know what they're talking about. Some of them still call Marina a "band" (she's a solo artist), and a lot of them think that Electra Heart is an "alter ego" or "antithesis" of Marina, when that's not what the album is about.

Electra Heart is made up of different archetypes (personalities). Marina chose these archetypes based on what she sees in herself (so not an alter ego or antithesis). It's cleverly put together, but the concept is too deep for the average critic.
