Avril has WW appeal yet her career has gone steeply downhill since her peak whereas Taylor still slays. Country is not big outside the us so considering Talyor actually sold 9 million WW with a country album is

But her reign does not seem to be ending any time soon. She is consistent. Avril was not. I'm pretty sure that in 10 years time Taylor will still be getting 5m WW.

But Globally she hasn't ever compared to Avril at her peak. Even if she is supposibly going to become more global from a new contract it still isn't a definite. You don't know whats gonna happen in 10 years time

Avril.

Taylor is a HUGE superstar nowadays, and no doubt she is more relevant. She has 6 Grammys, Avril has 8.......nominations. Anyways, the thing with Taylor is she has a huge grossing tour and very strong sales in the US, and that undeniably casts a shadow over Avril, because she's not as strong nowadays in terms of selling power.

However, Avril has more iconic songs. Complicated was so iconic, it DEFINED a generation. In fact, the whole Let Go era did. And Girlfriend, albeit not one of her best songs, was a #1 Billboard H100 hit (Taylor has no #1 on the Hot 100).

Taylor defined the niche of country pop, but Avril did so much more in her time (in terms of influence). Plus, if you compare worldwide sales, it is obvious that Avril dominates. That is unquestionable.

the fact that taylor sold only a little more than 3M copies WW through her three released albums says it all and don't say she's country and country music don't sell well look at Shania Twain's worldwide sales and I don't think taylor will do better WW with her next album

Not worldwide. There is no huge appeal to her music outside the US.

I wasn't comparing her to shania, I was trying to say that she doesn't sell outside the US and the fact that she did 3M outside the US and with three albums that are listed as the best selling albums in the US so far at the time when she recieves all the buzz isn't good at all
