Blackout didn't seem like such an innovation for me, back then. I mean... It wasn't so far from what Timbaland was doing.

And it still doesn't seem like such an innovation. It was also hard to take her seriously back then, given all the meltdowns. But the album's good

I only voted no because I don't think it was the entire influence behind The Fame, I think it was a mixture of Blackout, Loose, FSLS, Confessions, and even a little of Gwen S.

What's disco about The Fame?

Some of the funky sounds throughout the album? The groove/slick sound that several of the tracks have. It's not that omnipresent or anything. It's mostly inspired by the electro-pop from the 80's with a modern twist like Blackout and the aforementioned albums from Foxay's post.

I think y'all are forgetting half of The Fame's songs were recorded in the summer of '07, before Blackout was released.

Also TF = 80's synthpop inspired, Blackout = urban pop with influences of electronica. Different things.

FutureSex/LoveSounds with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. Truly an amazing album....it was before Timbaland became a generic and repetitive mess in Pop.

Honestly, BTW is the more unique and different sounding album for Gaga than TF or TFM ever were. You can vividly make out the 80's influence in the tracks.

I may not like BTW, but it's easily different from what's currently out right now which is something I can respect about the album.
