Britney, Eminem, Usher and Shakira (at least in the Latin music community) are already close to the legend status.

Beyonce, Alicia and Xtina needs one or two more smashing eras, and they'll be there.

I'm not following Kayne much, so I don't know about him.

I know you all hate Lil' Wayne, but Tha Carter III will end up being a huge Hip-Hop album, and he will have many classics. He was an extremely important hip-hop player for a good amount of time, I don't see how it's ridiculous to see him as a legend if people see Britney one.

Bruno Mars is on the right track so far but it depends on what he releases next and how successful he's going to be you can't be considered a legend if you don't sell in the US and WW,singers who were considered legends have sold hundred millions of records around the world I think it's an important factor

The word "legend" is thrown around too loosely.

Kanye and Eminem are the only ones in the list who I think are sure to be considered legends in near future, known for their influence, commercial success, and acclaim of their material. Beyoncé has a good chance, too.

None of them are legends yet.

it might be a bit early, but I can't think of anyone else who had this much success in this short of time who hasn't become a legend. Really, it's pretty hard just to imagine anyone with this much success in just 4 years. I guess one might say Britney, but she wasn't as big on the singles or touring fronts right out of the gate. She's still not as big with tours. And despite those two areas where she was weaker than Gaga is now, she is unquestionably one of the biggest legends in pop music.
