Minor star?! She had a #2 2x platinum album and has won 6 Grammys! How is that minor?! She also had a top ten hit, and if her personal life wan't so unstable I am sure she would have had a lot more! Also, she is very iconic now as a British icon, and is known in the US not only for her music, but for her style and personal life.

As for Lana, she may not be as successful in the US as in the UK and Europe, but she still has had a #2 album...

She has one album that sold and one successful single. That doesn't make her an huge star, or an icon. No one remembered her prior to her death in the US. Her career and life have been glorified ever since she died. And Grammys mean nothing in terms of relevance. Most years some random, indie artist wins Album of the Year at the Grammys, despite being unknown to the general public.

As for Lana: despite charting at #2, she only sold 77,000 copies in her first week. Sales weeks have been slow for her in the US since then. I don't think she's sold over 125,000 copies in the US yet.

I live in the US and people do remember Amy. Granted I don't think she is as relevant here than in the UK, but she is NOT a minor star. Anyone who knows anything about music will know her, and regardless of whether she was glorified after her death or not, she is known here in the US.

She sold 210,000 copies so far in the US.

Who told you that? You really do need to do your research before posting if your points aren't to be treated with disdain by those who know the truth. For instance, your Lana sales figure is out by 85,000!
