Let's say, tomorrow morning, your fave announces that they will instantly retire from music because they are fed up with fame. All upcoming tours/albums will be cancelled, and they will never make music again.

How would you react to this? Would you be angry, would you hate them, or would you respect their decision?

Lily Allen did this to me and I was very upset but eventually respected her decision.

Sad, then MAD, then sad, and then MAD again. Then a few months later I would probably respect her opinion. But I don't see her retiring from music for a while.

I wouldn't be happy about it at first but after a while come to respect their decision, and then i'd probably focus on other artists i like

I'd be sad because she promised us 2 more albums after this at least, but she has a strong enough catalogue for me not to be devastated.

Not upset at all. The thing about the artists I love is their dexterity in other fields and/or their contributions outside of music being overwhelming. Janet, Brandy, CK, and Utada have all been around for a while, so I don't mind if they permanently retired from music. The first three are really good actors, and Utada is an amazing composer, so I'm fine if they retired.

Ciara, on the other hand, has so much potential that isn't utilized ever so often, and I'll be somewhat upset if she retired, because I'm sure she has great material ready.

When Utada did this I was very sad, but eventually I got over it. It would be the same with Tiziano. Especially cause I'd totally understand if he wanted to quit.

when I experienced it I was mad since she's too talented to give up just like that, but eventually I respected her decision but I still think its a big loss for music industry and I hope she'll be back.

I would still respect them because atleast they gave good music for me to listen too, and worked their ass off dancing. So I can reminisce on youtube, I would be slightly sad that they retired. But would be happy for them
