What "Street" looks has Rihanna inspired ???
Again, getting appreciated by a designer/winning a fashion award does NOT make you an icon. For all i know, Gaga may have a much better fashion sense than Rihanna, but she didnt make her style 'common'.
For Rihanna, the only thing i can recall is the 'rihanna cut' the hairstyle from GGGB era. i'm not saying that Rihanna invented it or something, but she made it famous and people started copying it. In my country, where albums/singles aren't even released, 70% of the people don't speak English, it's a big thing.
History will show a dark time in our culture in which a million followers on Twitter became a key component to winning a Grammy. But thank God for Pink. While Christina Aguilera has a tendency to oversing, Britney Spears can't sing, and Lauryn Hill sorta stopped singing, Pink has managed to carve a brilliant 13-year-career by being something that is incredibly rare these days -- an artist. Anyone saying Rihanna is clearly delusional. Gaga is, and will most likely always be, a bigger fashion icon than Rihanna. It's not about how many people dress like you every day.
During every award show, everyone wants to know what Gaga's going to wear. No one's checking for Rihanna until she arrives.
