A lot of us have posted on here before about how people like Jay Sean, Taio Cruz, Jason DeRulo, and others never seem to succeed because they are so generic and are just boring.
Well, maybe it's time we got a gay male artist come in shake things up. The music industry already has so many female artists breaking boundaries and everything. Britney did it, as well as GaGa. Madonna, Katy, Rihanna, Beyonce, Ke$ha, Adele, Taylor Swift, and so forth.
We haven't had a gay male popstar breakout yet successfully. Alright, we had Adam Lambert but he only had one Top 10 Hit that was decently memorable, and it only hit Top 10 because of American Idol and he is flopping with his new album.
I seriously think now would be a good time for a gay male to come into the music industry and change things up. Maybe if that happened, all the straight male artists could come out of their comfort zone and they can start making great songs and great music videos.
But the question is, do you think it can really happen?
Queens: Miley Cyrus, Avril Lavigne, Rihanna, Carly Rae Jepsen, Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale, Katy Perry, Lady GaGa, Ke$ha
Princesses: Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, Fergie, Ellie Goulding, Cher Lloyd, Jessie J, Taylor Swift, Hilary Duff, Ashlee Simpson
I don't know about M-D-N-A he is part of this blog and I can't understand his actions as well, the fake stans we have detected are madonnas and Dullenlightment,
I don't think so. Adam Lambert sucks and is sooo boring. TBH, I hope Simon Curtis can do something. If any gay stars should be famous, it is him. His tracks are HOT
Faves: 1) Ke$ha 2) Marina & The Diamonds 3) Kylie Minogue 4) Britney Spears 5) Carly Rae Jepsen 6) Simon Curtis
Also a huge fan of: Wynter Gordon, Avril lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, P!nk, Beyonce, Arcade Fire

literally implying that Simon Curtis is better than Adam Lambert
bahahahaha
Gaga. Yeezy.
MJ. Madonna. Britney. Bey. Adam.
Cher Lloyd. Lana. Kreay. Weezy. Flocka. Robyn. Maya. Rih-Rih. K$.
Other dudes+bitches.
For someone that wants gay males to happen in pop you sure are quick to call Adam a flop despite his album not being out. I guess it's easier to just remark how gays are never going to happen than to actually support them

Adam is very boring when it comes to his songs. I get nothing from him.
I think Simon has much more of a spark and interest. RA was amazing. Adam's singles are very boring!

I don't think being gay has anything to do with it, but a male artist does need to come in and not be afraid to shake things up
This.
Someone needs to come in and do something that's different. A gay male artist cannot come onto the scene and make the same kind of music and expect to be successful. It's why Lambert is struggling now.
Think Bruno Mars, he would be successful even if he was gay as his music is widely different from what's on the radio and from his fellow male peers. He fills a unique niche.
I think someone like Simon Curtis could potentially make it big, but I doubt he will. I'm just waiting for a male pop/rock singer equivalent to the likes of Kelly Clarkson, P!nk, and Katy Perry. If you think about it, there isn't a male on the radio who has made an album of pure pop/rock music that's isn't bordering on the typical David Cook/Lee Dewyze crap. Lambert tried it with WYWFM and scored a Top 10 hit. Not sure why he didn't keep going with that formula!

FALSE!
Mainstream artists only become mainstream when major labels have faith that they can reach a large audience. Straight females and males don't have this problem because they are considered marketable. Gay artists are considered "niche" and their audience is more limited (a.k.a. not as profittable), hence not getting major label support.
There are plenty of gay artists who "shake things up" but they usually have to go the indie route.
