Adele, Rihanna, Lil Wayne Lead 2012 Billboard Music Awards Finalists

Adele, LMFAO, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne lead the finalists for the 2012 Billboard Music Awards, which will take place at Las Vegas' MGM Grand and be broadcast live Sunday May 20, 8/7c on ABC.

Adele takes the lead as a finalist in 18 award categories, including Top Artist, Top Female Artist and Top Billboard 200 Artist. "Rolling In The Deep," the lead single from her blockbuster sophomore album "21," places the U.K. singer as a contender in seven song categories.

Ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I like Adele, I really do. But the hype and success shes getting is started to annoy me. I'm starting to dread looking at the iTunes Album's chart because 21 will never leave the Top 10.

It seems a bit absurd that she's being nominated in both pop AND rock categories. Even if she crosses genres (which she doesn't, at least not anymore than the other noms), it makes her accolades seem more political than genuine. And it really is an insult to the other nominees.

To be totally honest, i found the Lana hype WAY more annoying than Adele's. At least Adele fans weren't saying how much she will slay on everyone before 21 was even out.
