As soon as Madonna started wearing those Britney t-shirts she was all about her.

The funny part is that Madonna kind of shaded her when first asked about her (this was in 1999). Then all of a sudden during the Oops era when Britney became more successful she was a huge fan and that she reminded her of herself Mind you, Brit is a sweet humble southern country girl, and Madonna is an outspoken brash Italian girl from Detroit. They have nothing in common

I never thought about it this way ur right they have nothing in common at all. Even there performances are not common lol Britney is more like Janet than Madonna.

Christina has always show Janet love, When she first came out she always stated Julie Andrews,Etta James, Whitney, Mariah, Madonna, and Janet as her biggest influences. And she still does If you listen to her playlist on her radio station there is 80s and 90s Janet all over it. But i think that pictured posted in the first page is the only time Janet has met her and paid her any attention. But whatever Christina has gotten to meet and have a picture taken with all of her childhood idols except Mariah

Janet keeps to her business. Madonna uses others to hold on to relevancy, Britney being one of them. As noted before, she didn't think anything of Britney until she realized she could use her to her advantage. When asked about Britney being compared to her, she commented that there was more to her than 'taking my clothes off'.

Madonna will be hitting the road for the first time since her 1993 Girlie Show. She will play a free show on Nov. 5 at Manhattan’s Roseland Ballroom, her only scheduled U.S. appearance, confirmed her spokesperson, Liz Rosenberg. Tickets will be handed out in various radio contests around the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Madonna, who won’t be playing a full set at Roseland (there will be musical groups on hand), is viewing the show as “a chance for me to get my feet wet on the stage again and a way to say thank you to an intimate group of my fans for all their support over the years,” according to a statement issued yesterday. Madonna is also reportedly due to perform at London’s Brixton Academy on Nov. 28. A wider club tour is reportedly planned for 2001.

In other news of the Material Mom and some younger competition, Madonna had this to say about Britney Spears to the Toronto Sun: “If she’s being called the new Madonna, that’s all right with me. I mean, there’s a lot more to being Madonna than taking off your clothes, so I hope she can live up to it.”
