So around two years ago, a pretty huge collection of songs by Kelly Clarkson were leaked. Most of them were demos from older eras and a couple were actually released on her succeeding albums. Among those leaks was a song called Cleopatra , which fans were surprised with (pleasantly, for me ) because it's not a typical Kelly track.
It was still in demo form, but Kelly expressed particular anger and frustration over the leak because the song was apparently intended for another artist, but since it was leaked, it's now unlikely to ever be released .
Fans have speculated who the track may be for, with the main choices being Beyonce (because she could definitely pull off the sexiness and has the strong vocals for it), Britney (the intro gives me Slave 4 You vibes), Pink (simply because of the vocal similarities between Kelly and Pink) among others. Personally, I see Rihanna owning the track, and if Katy were to take a risk, she could do a good job too.
The track still needs a lot of work, it's just a demo after all. But when you listen to it, who do you think Kelly wrote the song for? Could it have been on your fave's album? Bear in mind, this was more than a year ago, so they would have been in different eras.
p!nk and Katy write their own songs.
So i'd go for Bey.
History will show a dark time in our culture in which a million followers on Twitter became a key component to winning a Grammy. But thank God for Pink. While Christina Aguilera has a tendency to oversing, Britney Spears can't sing, and Lauryn Hill sorta stopped singing, Pink has managed to carve a brilliant 13-year-career by being something that is incredibly rare these days -- an artist. A complete artist. - CNN
Maybe Christina Aguilera? It sounds like ''Stripped'' 2.0. ''Miss Independent'' was originally meant for her too! They have more similarities than one likes to think. On the other hand, if it leaked around 2 years ago it would be around ''Bionic'' so Xtina would not be interested in recording new music. It's an interesting topic nonetheless.
