In April 2002, Japanese singer Utada Hikaru unleashed the song and video "Sakura Drops" on an unsuspecting audience. Having had massive success singing R&B and pop, no one expected to find these otherworldly sounds and melodies in her music, influenced by legends such as Björk and Enya. The groundbreaking video was a fantastic display of modern technology, with the most beautiful animations that had been produced up until then.
Utada had only just turned 19, and had already sold over 10 million albums in Japan. "Sakura Drops", which she wrote and produced herself, was another gigantic success for the star. Her third album Deep River, released a few months later, sold an incredible 2.35 million copies in the first week, while the song "Sakura Drops" dominated the hearts, minds and ears of the Japanese public.
Utada had finally earned the critical acclaim that she had always deserved. And the song became a work of the ages. It moved the standard of pop music up to a new level. And to this day it is revered as the one pop song that defines the 2000s decade.
I fall in love and announce it’s over
I promise that this will be my last heartbreak
Even the cherry blossoms
Sway in the wind and soon bloom
Summer rain begins to fall
Quietly sliding down beside my tears
Reruns of the fall drama shows
Form double images with my memories
Why do I always have to suffer
The same punches over and over?
Still, I’ll probably fight again
That’s the mystery of life
I fall in love and dedicate my everything
I wish for this to be my last heartbreak
Even the cherry blossoms
Sway through time and soon bloom
As the seasons repeat
Our shoes will continue to wear out
Relax your shoulders more
And lock the past away somewhere
A land no one has ever seen
Shouldn’t be that far from here
I want to get over my heart’s endless pain
And be even closer to you
I’ll be grasping blindly in the blue sky
Making one full round and ending back at the start
I fall in love and announce it’s over
I promise that this will be my first good day
Even the cherry blossoms
Sway in the wind as I softly reach out to you
I love you and can’t help myself
But it doesn’t even matter
Quante ne vorrei fare ma poi rimango fermo
Guardo la vita in foto e giŕ č arrivato un altro inverno
Non cambio mai su questo mai, distruggo tutto sempre
Se vi ho deluso chieder scusa non servirŕ a niente
Never heard this song but i love some of Utada Hikaru's music that she has done for Kingdom Hearts, so beautiful

History will show a dark time in our culture in which a million followers on Twitter became a key component to winning a Grammy. But thank God for Pink. While Christina Aguilera has a tendency to oversing, Britney Spears can't sing, and Lauryn Hill sorta stopped singing, Pink has managed to carve a brilliant 13-year-career by being something that is incredibly rare these days -- an artist. A complete artist. - CNN

Y'all haters better get outta here, especially with some Cardcaptor Sakura. Sakura Drops is literally THE ****, sent down from the heavens itself. One of the best songs of THE decade.
