Which albums in particular?
Aquemini & Stankonia received Universal Critical Acclaim and are considered two of the greatest albums of all time
College Dropout received over 4 Grammy Nomination, winning Best Rap Album.
CrazySexyCool is one of the few Diamond Certified album & won many Grammy awards.
The Writings on the Wall got over 6 Grammy Nominations.
Acoustic Soul garnered universal acclaim and gave India.Arie 7 Grammy nominations.
Element of Freedom sold 417K in it's first week and contains the R&B song of the year for 2010.
One in a Million got critical acclaim and solidified Aaliyah as a R&B star.
What's The 411? gave MJB the title of Queen of Hip Hop Soul & put her on the map. The reviews were great as well.
Rated R, Loud & TTT all contained songs that reached a large amount of success and ended up selling decently, amazingly, and decently, respectively. All three albums should have gone #1for making Rihanna the powerhouse she is now. LOUD was nominated for Album of the Year, and Only Girl gave Rihanna her first ever Solo Grammy award. Rated R is the most critically acclaimed album by Rihanna & TTT has Rihanna's biggest hit to date.
8701 showed a growth in Usher and maturity in his music. Positive reviews also aided this 4.7 Million seller
Year of the Gentlemen got critical acclaim and earned Ne-Yo 7 Grammy Nominations including Album of the Year.
The Cool put Lupe Fiasco on the map and gave him 4 Grammy nominations.
Elephunk got positive critical reception and sold very well for an album which didn't even crack the top 10.
Monkey Business got the Black Eyed Peas 6 Grammy Nominations.
Songs About Jane really made Maroon 5 a popular group, and was the 7th best selling album of 2004.
*~*
I'm Your Baby Tonight was given three Grammy nominations for the three good songs on the album, however, got negative reviews when it came to critics. All 3 nominations were lost. It was a terrible follow up to the success of Whitney.
Of course this is just my opinion (and that of several critics), but as you can see, Not even half of the albums are worse than IYBT
