LMFAO at all the Bieber fans saying Bieber is the only reason this song is smashing and saying she is "Biebers" artist. Beiber didn't freaking find her, he heard a very popular song on Canadian radio and got his manager to sign her. He acts like he scouted this random girl....

The song is smashing worldwide because of Bieber. In Canada however, it already was popular. The international success probably would of followed, but not to this extent.

Well, for the record, before he began tweeting about the song, it was #28 on the Canadian Hot 100. As he tweeted over the next few weeks, it rose to 21. Then, they uploaded the video of he and Selena dancing to the song and it went 21-9-4-1. So, after spending 4 weeks moving up 2 spots a week, it rocketed 12 spots into the top 10 and quickly rose to #1. Even in Canada, he had a colossal impact on the song.

THIS. While there is no arguing that Bieber brought the song to the masses, the fact remains that the song was already smashing in Canada, and I was into it long before Justin even heard it.

I did cringe when he called Carly "his artist" on Ellen. Yes, he is promoting her now (which is great!) but people stan for the perfection of this song itself, which Justin had no hand in making...
