Race is never an issue with me. I don't care what you look like or what you stand for. Music is music, and if it's good then I'm sold. Eminem is the only hip-hop artist I like, not because he's white but because his work is pretty tolerable in contrast to other rappers.

I agree with this, but I think in a lot of ways it's not a conscious decision. For example black people may feel like they connect more with Beyonce or another black artist because they share the same racial and cultural background. It's not a discriminatory thing by any means... It's just that they would feel they have more in common with her.

It's like how I listen to some artists from south Africa because I am from there and I feel a connection with their music, the way they express themselves and culture etc
